Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
We used to carry standard water bottles with us. We have changed to double insulated water bottles for two reasons. 1. You are so right - they keep our water cold longer. 2. The double insulated bottles don't sweat the way the disposable water bottles do.
I'm so glad you are thinking about this as it's so important to stay hydrated!!!!
Yes - the double insulated bottles do weigh more but that is the only disadvantage we have found. As our kids are getting older, they are becoming responsible for their own items so that does help vs. carrying one very heavy backpack. Regardless of whether dad, mom, or the kids carry their water bottles, we refill them throughout the theme parks. We each have a different color so each bottle is easily identifiable. In particular, during the summer months, our water bottles have become almost as important as our MagicBands. We do not leave our Resort hotel room without them.
If you find yourself at
Animal Kingdom Theme Park in
Pandora - The World of Avatar, be sure to stop by
Pongu Pongu for a refreshing beverage. The Night Blossom (non-alcoholic specialty beverage) has become a favorite of my kiddos. It has layers of apple and desert pear limeade topped with passion fruit boba balls. It's really sweet so they typically share it and then follow it up with, you guessed it, more water.
