Hi Michele,
Thanks for the great question and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Be Our Guest has become the most popular quick-service dining location in Magic Kingdom (no reservations accepted at lunch). You'll want to line up as early as 10:30 a.m. to avoid long waits with your little Mouseketeer. If you'd prefer to set a reservation in advance, I'd recommend The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street U.S.A. It's a great spot to chill out, relax and indulge in a little ice cream! Your son might also like a quick ride on the monorail (just outside Magic Kingdom) to one of the many great dining locations at Disney's Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian Resorts. My kids loved the monorail at this age (they still do!) which might also allow for a quiet place to nap on the ride back to Magic Kingdom.
In Disney's Animal Kingdom, my kids always loved Rainforest Café. It can be a little startling with the large animatronic creatures, so if you think he might be afraid I'd opt for Tusker House (reservations accepted) or Flame Tree Barbecue (quick service - no reservations). Tusker House is a character dining experience, but in my opinion, has the best menu offerings and quality of any Animal Kingdom dining locations.
Dining Reservations can be made
online or by calling 407-939-3463 up to 180-days in advance.
Were my suggestions helpful, Michele? I hope so but please do send me any follow up questions coming to mind. I'm happy to help you plan a magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
Best wishes,
Sherri
