How would you recommend we get from AK to Whispering Canyon Cafe, and how long will it take using Disney buses?...also as DS12 & 14 can't eat a bite without ketchup....what is going to happen when they ask?

I always allow 60-75 minutes for travel when I have a reservation planned. I am less stressed when arriving early rather than late.

This will allow time to get to the bus stop, wait for the next bus as well as in transit travel.

When you depart the Animal Kingdom, you'll follow signs to the bus stations. You will need C Station, section 1 for travel to the Wilderness Lodge.

When we used this same bus to take us to the Grand Floridian (also goes to the Wilderness Lodge) in June, it took us about an hour and the bus still had to go to the Wilderness Lodge. We waited for over a half hour for a bus to arrive to pick us up though.

Note: if you are actually departing the Animal Kingdom Lodge, then allow 15 minutes extra in order to take a bus to the Animal Kingdom park and then transfer to a Wilderness Lodge bus.

Ketchup Spoiler Alert: Please do not read further if you wish to be surprised about the ketchup antics at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

If you ask for ketchup, sometimes your server will yell out to the entire restaurant asking for bottles of ketchup. Guests with extra bottles of ketchup on their tables, will suddenly be charging forth to your table to drop them off. This happens quite often when a guest is asking for ketchup on a menu item that the server thinks does not call for ketchup, for example, eggs, meatloaf, etc.

My husband must have ketchup on everything too. Thus we often get LOTS of ketchup at our table. Try ordering a soda for breakfast. That sometimes yields a great antic too!

We always eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. On our last visit, my mom was teased by the server. The server pulled up a chair to chat with my son. My husband was given a Chef statue that stood staring at him. Napkins were thrown at us. Go with a sense of humor and it'll be a hoot. Servers usually gauge how "far" they can go with the guests.

We enjoy breakfast and lunch here. I bet dinner is mighty good too!
