Hello, Rosemary,
I’m sorry to hear about your injury. I hope you can recover quickly and that your injury does not interfere too much with your visit to the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Resort offers a variety of
accommodations for Guests with disabilities, even temporary disabilities. Because the needs of each Guest are unique, you’ll want to speak one-on-one with a Cast Member at one of the several
Guest Relations locations throughout the theme parks to discuss options that are best specifically for you.
Here at planDisney, we are regular Disneyland Parks Guests just like you. So I can’t determine exactly what accommodations a Cast Member may offer. But I’d like to give you a description of some accommodations that you might be offered. In my observations, the typical recommendation for mobility-related disabilities is to use a mobility aid such as a wheelchair or
Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). Accommodations for Guests using a wheelchair or ECV are often in the form of providing alternate entrances that are more accessible, such as routes that avoid stairs. To make access to attractions fair for everyone, such accommodations typically involve reserving a return time based on an attraction’s current estimated standby wait time. After that designated time, the Guest with the disability and their designated party return to the designated entrance to experience the attraction in an expedited manner from that point.
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Rosemary. I hope I’ve been able to provide insights and information that will help make your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth as enjoyable as possible for you. I hope you’ll stop by again if we can help answer any more questions you have.
