Hello, Pamela! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm so sorry to hear that your ankle is still on the mend! With all the walking you know you're going to be doing around the 40 square miles of
Walt Disney World Resort I'm sure you wish that it was in tip-top shape! Hopefully, it won't give you much trouble and you'll still be able to experience all your favorite rides and attractions, as well as new additions to the Parks such as
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and
Disney Enchantment!
When I looked through the
Property Rules of the Resort, it does seem to point towards any type of folding chair, including stools, as a prohibited item in the Theme Parks,
Water Parks, and
Disney Springs. I'm sure this is not the answer you were hoping for, as I know you might not feel comfortable standing on your injured ankle all day.
After speaking to a Cast Member I did find that many cane stools, (a cane with an attached seat that folds up) are sometimes allowed in the Parks because they are considered medical devices. However, I would suggest contacting Disney's Disability Services at (407)-560-2547 if you purchase one to confirm that its specifics fall into the "allowed" category.
If waiting in lines is what you're most concerned about, I would suggest taking a look at the new
Disney Genie+ Service! When you purchase Disney Genie+, you and your party will be able to use "Lightning Lanes" after booking a return time for over 40 attractions within the four Theme Parks. This means that you'll essentially be skipping the line when you come back during your arrival window, making your wait very short or even non-existent! It's a great way to keep from standing in long lines and also provides you and your party more time to explore other parts of the Parks, find some delicious snacks, or relax and watch a show like
Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire.
I hope that this information helps you decide what will work best for you during your trip. Please come back and see us again if you have any other questions!
