I’ve recently seen guests at security checkpoints told that they can’t bring in their metal refillable bottles, stating that they can be used as a weapon. I was able to go in with mine with a different security line. Is there a new rule against them?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, April! You’re as welcome as can be to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I double-checked the Disneyland Resort Rules, and didn’t notice any mention of metal refillable water bottles not being allowed inside the Disneyland Resort. I also checked with a Cast Member, and was told that metal water bottles aren’t listed as non-permitted items, so, you should be fine bringing it with you on your next visit. The Cast Member I chatted with said she recently brought her own metal water bottle into the parks, too. So, it sounds like there must have been some confusion at the security checkpoint. Or, perhaps the liquid inside the bottle was in question. Alcoholic beverages aren’t allowed inside the Disneyland Resort, except in the Hotels, or bottles of wine being brought to select table-service restaurants in Downtown Disney District. In addition, glass containers aren’t allowed inside the Disneyland Resort, except for small containers, such as baby food jars.

It sounds like you may be a local Annual Passholder. I hope you’re enjoying your year so far! There is so much excitement to look forward to in 2020, from the opening of Avengers Campus, to the new “Magic Happens” Parade, to the highly-anticipated opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in January… it’s a great time to be a Disneyland Resort Annual Passholder!

Wishing you many more magical adventures at the Happiest Place on Earth!

    See ya’ real soon!
