Hi Tim, and welcome back to planDisney! We’re so happy you stopped by with this question.
A private cruise at Walt Disney World Resort is such a unique way to experience the magic from a whole new perspective!
It sounds like you may have stumbled upon a fireworks cruise from Disney’s
Enchanting Extras Collection. If so, you’ve found one of Walt Disney World’s hidden gems! This is hands down one of my all-time favorite Disney experiences. With a private fireworks cruise, you can charter a boat for up to 10 people, and it comes with a friendly captain to guide your journey, along with an assortment of snacks and soft drinks. When I took a cruise, we were offered Disney desserts like cookies and Mickey-shaped rice crispy treats plus chips and pretzels. These options will vary based upon availability, but we were provided with plenty to eat and drink. The best part of the fireworks cruises isn’t the food though – it’s the spectacular fireworks views that you can only get from the water!
The one part of your description that doesn’t exactly match the fireworks cruise is that these cruises are usually on pontoon boats. It’s possible another watercraft was used that evening, or it could have also been a private event such as a group or corporate event. At this time, the fireworks cruises are the only watercraft with food and drinks available for booking. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance
online or by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.
Tim, I hope this helps and that you are able to book a magical cruise to see
Luminous The Symphony of Us at EPCOT! Fireworks are also available to watch Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park. If you have any more questions, stop back by and see us here at planDisney. We are always here to help and love adding extra magic to your Disney planning!
