I recently had to replace a lost credit card. Will this impact my resort, advanced dining, and other reservations? Specifically, I had to manually enter a credit card for ADRs and those didn't use a linked card. How can I update credit card on ADRs?

Hey there, Jeffrey! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great question. I'm more than happy to help!

Before you know it, you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth, ready to begin your magical adventure. And since you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel and your Advance Dining Reservations have been confirmed, it sounds as if your planning is off to a practically perfect start. On my last trip to Walt Disney World Resort, the credit card that I used to book my Resort Hotel reservation and dining reservations expired between booking and my arrival, so I'm more than happy to share my experience and answer your question today.

First, Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" Rest assured that your Disney Resort Hotel reservation and your confirmed Advance Dining Reservations are safe and sound. Your lost credit card was already used to pay at least your Resort reservation's deposit and to guarantee your dining reservations, so your plans remain intact. YAY!

Now, let's chat about the details. If you booked a vacation package, just be sure that your final payment is made on time, as not paying your balance on time can result in cancellation. However, if you booked a room-only reservation, your balance is not due until check-in day, and this is where you can learn from my credit card mishap. Before my arrival, I forgot to update my credit card on file, so when my Resort Hotel ran my expired credit card early in the morning on check-in day, it was declined, and therefore, I was not able to take advantage of the oh-so-convenient Online Check-in and was forced to stop at the front desk to pay my balance and get my room number upon arrival. To avoid having to stop at the front desk to check in, I suggest updating your credit card on file.

To update your credit card on file to use for app-based purchases, such as Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering, Merchandise Mobile Checkout, Genie+ and Lightning Lane purchases, and more, just log in to your My Disney Experience account, hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab and click your name at the top to be brought to your profile. Scroll down and click "Payment Method" to remove your lost card and add your new one. This will save you so much time while you're soaking in the magic!

Although it isn't necessary in order to keep your reservations, if you would like to make sure the correct credit card is on file and/or update the credit card on your Advance Dining Reservations, just call a helpful Cast Member at 407-560-CHAT or 407-560-2428. It's almost magic time!

I hope this was helpful, Jeffery, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable upcoming vacation! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have.
