I recently recieved tickets to WDW though a work promotion. WDW keeps telling me I need to buy at least a one day ticket through WDW to add the dining plan? Why? I want to add it to the tickets I already have. Any advise?

Hi, Tonya!   The Disney Dining Plan can only be purchased as part of a "package" so you need to have a room AND tickets to qualify for the Dining Plan.   However, the Dining Plan is based on the number of nights you are staying, it is not based on your tickets.  So if you add on just a one day base Magic Your Way ticket, you are now able to add on the Dining Plan.

I always purchase 10 tickets with no expiration so I can get 2 vacations out of my tickets.  Last time we went to WDW, I wanted the Dining Plan, so I just bought a one day ticket for each member of my party.   For the rest of my vacation days, I used my existing tickets.

Unfortunately, if you want the Dining Plan, there is no getting around purchasing a Disney Resort Package that includes at least one day of park tickets.   Hope this information helps!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
