I recently read about some activities offered at the resort hotels. We are staying at All Star Movies. Is Tie Dying available? What about Mickey shaped mosaics? Do these activities happen daily or only certain days? Thank you!

Hello, Lacy! I'm so pleased to welcome you to planDisney.

How exciting that your Magical vacation is so soon! I'll be headed to the Walt Disney World Resort this summer as well and I'm so excited to soak up the sun at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Lacy, while visiting the parks is typically our first priority, we love relaxing days at our Disney Resort Hotel! One of the best things about staying onsite at a Disney Resort Hotel is that there is always fun to be had right at your resort.

Lacy, when you check into Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, the first thing you're going to want to do is to ask a Cast Member for the weekly recreation calendar. You'll find that the offerings constantly change, but my experience has been that Mickey Tie-Dye is offered a few times a week (for an additional fee) with other arts and crafts options on other days. You might even find things like designing your own water bottle or making slime!

Now, Lacy, while I have seen Mickey Tie-Dye offered at every Disney Resort Hotel that I have visited, I have only seen Spanish Mosaic Art available at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This activity is able to be booked in advance and is open to all guests, regardless of which resort you're calling home. This would be a great way to spend a rest day and explore another Disney Resort Hotel while you're on vacation. If you decide to book Spanish Mosaic Art, you'll need to make your way from Disney's All-Star Movies Resort to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. From your location, the quickest way would likely be to take a complimentary bus to either Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Disney's Hollywood Studios and then change buses to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. When I'm traveling from one resort to another, I usually allow about 90 minutes of travel time, just to make sure I'm not like the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland when he famously shouted, "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!"

Lacy, I hope this helps as you're planning ahead for your upcoming trip. I'll be wishing on a star that you have an unforgettable vacation. Please come on back to planDisney with any additional questions you might have.
