Hi Steven,
Thank you for trusting planDisney with your questions about important Disney details related to your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Generally speaking, the barcode that appears underneath linked tickets in the
My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's home page --> Tickets and Passes) is not used for park entry. At Walt Disney World Resort, unlike Disneyland Resort, that barcode is exclusively for Cast Member use should a specific ticket-related concern arise.
The three
methods of entry Walt Disney World Resort Guests can choose from when entering a theme park are MagicBand/MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, and/or admission card. Melanie shared some
excellent information with you about MagicBands and Disney MagicMobile passes. I'll add that admission cards can be obtained at any theme park ticket window. Be prepared to show the vacation package confirmation email, the card used to make the purchase, and a valid photo ID for the cardholder.
I reached out to a caring Cast Member on your behalf, Steven, and obtained some helpful information about the "package ticket" wording you're seeing instead of a barcode in your My Disney Experience mobile app. She explained that your tickets, which are part of your magical vacation package, will be activated once you check in to your Disney Resort hotel. Even without a barcode, she assured me you can proceed with making
theme park reservations for each park day. You can also download your Disney MagicMobile passes (three lines --> Disney MagicMobile).
I hope this information gives you a sense of relief, Steven. The Disney difference shines brightest in the Disney details and it sounds like you're all set to make some magic! Please don't hesitate to
follow up with any additional questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
