Hi there, Derek!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I’d be happy to help clarify this for you. Once a moment has passed, we don’t get it back — so I think it is very important to document the magic while you are visiting the Disneyland Resort! It’s one of my favorite hobbies, actually.
Action cameras are some of the most durable devices out there, but the stability can become a challenge. I understand why you want to be able to use a rod for stability. Selfie sticks and hand-held extension poles are not allowed into the parks, no matter the length.
All is not lost; there is still a way to capture the perfect shot! You can bring a tripod or monopod stand that can fit inside a standard backpack and doesn’t extend beyond 6 feet. Please keep in mind that
park rules are subject to change at any time, and cast members reserve the right to prohibit any item at their discretion.
Bonus Tip: If you choose this option, avoid setting it up in crowded walkways, during parades or shows, and in ride queues. If I were you, I would use it for static shots, table shots, and other low-profile shots that could not potentially be disruptive to other guests.
Speaking of table shots, there is a long list of
new food items coming to Disneyland as
the 70th Celebration continues. Be sure to try them during your visit!
Derek, I hope this information was helpful as you gear up for your next adventure to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please feel free to come back to us again if you have any other questions!
Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
Karmeen
