We recently purchased 5 day park hopper tickets. Now my husband is thinking we should have bought a 6 day ticket. Do you know if additional days can be added and, if so, will they cost more than they would have if we had bought the extra day earlier?

    Hi Alisyn,

I am voting to add another day to your tickets! Absolutely you may add days to your theme park tickets. You will pay the prevailing rate between the gate price of your current ticket and the ticket in which you would like to upgrade. In your case the current cost of increasing from a 5 day theme park ticket to a 6 day is $10 per ticket as shown here in this link for Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets. Here is a little tip:  If you purchased your tickets at a discount, such as is often available at sites such as Undercover Tourist, you can retain your discount as long as you have already begun to use your ticket before upgrading it. This past year I purchased 5 day Park Hopper ticket for myself from Undercover Tourist and then upgraded it to an Annual Pass and was able to retain my discount. In order to upgrade theme park tickets you must have at least 1 day left on it (cannot be used up) and it must be within 14 days of its first use.  Here is a link that outlines the details of Upgrading Magic Your Way Tickets.

As far as answering if it would be more expensive to add a day now as opposed to when you purchased them, there isn't a clear-cut answer. Ticket prices have historically gone up each year, so it truly depends upon if you bought the tickets before the price increase this year and if you will be able to upgrade them before any theoretical price increase next year. Ticket prices usually only go up a few dollars, so if there was a savings by purchasing a 6 day ticket earlier it wasn't a substantial amount.
