I recently purchased a 2 day hopper pass for an upcoming trip. I purchased a lighting lane multi pass for one park that we plan to visit the second half of one of the days but can’t access the other LL multi passes for the first half of the day. Help!

Hiya, Lauren! It won't be long before you pack your bags and leave today for the worlds of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy. Oh boy! Oh boy! I'm glad you breezed by planDisney with your question about Lightning Lane passes.

A Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a great option to help speed through the lines of some of your favorite attractions. It sounds like you purchased it for a theme park you plan to visit later in the day, but you also want to use it earlier. With the Multi Pass, you pick the date, theme park and three attractions in that park. After you have scanned in for a Lightning Lane, you can choose another, including attractions in other theme parks, since you have the Park Hopper option. However, before your trip, the first three choices are limited to the theme park where you bought the Multi Pass.

If you want to choose Lightning Lane attractions in the first park, you would need to change the pass you purchased. To do this, select "Lightning Lane Passes" from the My Disney Experience app's home screen. Under the date you are trying to change, click on the box that says "Lightning Lane Booked for..." and the theme park. In the window that pops up at the bottom of the screen, select "Modify Lightning Lane Multi Pass." You'll be able to follow the prompts to choose the Guests, date, theme park and attractions.

This has pros and cons, depending on your plans for the day. In the "pro" column is an earlier start. After scanning the first Lightning Lane, you can select any other available experience from any theme park. The earlier you can start, the better. If you modify your pass to start at your first park, you can also enjoy it all day. After scanning into a Lightning Lane, you can check the available Lightning Lane entries for both parks and decide what experiences and times work well for where you are or where you may be later in the day.

A consideration before doing this would be giving up your current selections. If, for example, you plan to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios for the second half of the day and you have a pass for Slinky Dog Dash now, you would lose this if you modify your pass to start at a different park. I know from my experience purchasing a Multi Pass for a day earlier this same week that this attraction is already booked. The chances of getting this on the day of your visit are not guaranteed. If you already have a priority selection in your plans, you may want to keep it the same. Or, like us, the standby queue it is!

Lauren, I know spending a few days at the Most Magical Place on Earth right before Thanksgiving makes the season extra bright. I hope you gobble up some fun and enjoy all the joys of the holidays. If you have any other questions, please come see us again at planDisney.
