Hello, I recently moved to California and I do not yet have my California ID. My partner has the bills in their name. Will my credit card statement with my legal name, and my out-of-state ID be enough proof of residence? Does it need to be a bank account?

Hi there, Ashley! Welcome to planDisney, and welcome to California! As a former Southern California resident, I sure do miss hopping in the car after work and heading to the Happiest Place on Earth for a little dose of magic. There is nothing quite like knowing Mickey, Minnie, and all their pals are just a drive away, and all the wonder and enchantment of the Disneyland Resort is at your fingertips!

It sounds like you may be asking about the Imagine Key, which is the Magic Key available for California Residents, or the California Resident Ticket offers. Both would require proof of residence once you get to those Main Entrance Gates. I'm so sorry to be the one to share that sales on Magic Keys are currently paused and, currently, there are no active ticket offers for California residents. I know that's probably not the most pixie-dusted news! What I can do is let you know what will be required if Magic Key sales resume or a California Resident Ticket offer is announced! Keep in mind that processes and eligibility can change, so you'll want to read through any of the terms for new tickets.

Typically, these special tickets and keys are for Guests that live within specific zip codes, which would be outlined on the Disneyland website. As long as your Disneyland account has your current zip code that falls within those that are eligible, you are usually able to purchase the tickets. Make sure that you are logged into your Disneyland account before making any purchases so the system recognizes that you are a California resident. The identification step comes in when you scan through the Main Entrance Gates. You will want to have a valid, non-expired, government-issued photo ID (your current out-of-state ID will work!) and a copy of a document proving your Californian residency with your name on it, such as a utility bill. If you have any specific questions about forms of identification, give the Guest Services team a call! There's even a specific team dedicated to Magic Keys.

While these particular types of magic may be on pause for the moment, I highly recommend keeping your ears and eyes peeled on the Disney Parks Blog and @DISNEYLANDMAGICKEY and @DISNEYLAND Instagram accounts for news! I'm wishing upon a star that a key finds its way to you, and you are able to unlock a new level of magic!

Ashley, if you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney!

    Never stop dreaming,
