Just recently married and booked a honeymoon for my wife and I at Disney World. Her IDs still reflect her maiden name. We would like to use our new last names for this occasion. Can she use her new last name or does she need to use the name on her ID?

Hey Howdy Hey Ronald and welcome to planDisney!

Congratulations on the recent wedding and what a Magical way to celebrate your special day! I love that you all will celebrate your special day in the Most Magical Place on Earth! There is so much to look forward to and plan to celebrate, but before we get too far, let's talk about the name situation for your wife.

I will share with you that for your reservations in Walt Disney World Resort, as long as you both are over the age of 18 you rarely would be required to show identification for anything about your trips such as check-in or tickets. Most everything is done through your My Disney Experience app such as Direct-to-Room Service for check-in for your resort room, so most times you would not need to show identification for things like that or theme park tickets if purchased online through Walt Disney World.

That being said, I will give you my experience as an anxious newlywed that booked a trip to Walt Disney World Resort for their honeymoon and chose to use my wife's name that did not match her identification, it might help to keep her last name the same as what is on her identification. If she is required to show identification for anything, this will go much more smoothly if the names are matched. Make sure that things such as plane tickets have her name that reflects her ID, as well as this, can be a much bigger issue!

Now for some fun tips on touring the parks! Make sure you and your new bride either have your "Just Married" or "Happily Ever After" buttons on or the special wedding celebration ears. Tell everyone that asks you all are there to celebrate your honeymoon and who knows, maybe some extra pixie dust might come your way!

I also wanted to let you know about some extra-special ways to celebrate. You can start by checking out Disney Enchanting Extra Collection. These offerings are special ways to celebrate your trip for any occasion. Capture Your Moment is a new offering that gives you personal access to a Disney PhotoPass photographer for a private 20-minute session. When you arrive to meet your photographer, you can let them know you are visiting for your honeymoon and they can give you recommendations to make these pictures extra Magical! I would also consider some of the wide offerings at The Grand Floridian Spa. So many offerings like a couples massage is a great way to start your trip with an extra luxurious treatment.

Best of luck on your continued planning for your special day celebration and I hope you and your new bride start your Happily Every After off with a trip full of Magical memories. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
