I recently lost my Mom, but have wonderful memories of taking her to Disney in December, 2006, for her 80th birthday and in Oct. 2011 for her 85th birthday. Other than the Mickey Mets pin I bought her, is there any other pin I can purchase in her memory?

    Hi, Linda!

I’m so sorry to hear about the recent loss of your mother, but I’m glad that you have memories of the happy times you spent together at the Walt Disney World Resort to comfort you in this time of mourning.

As a Disney Parks Pin Trading enthusiast, I think it’s a wonderful idea to purchase a special pin to remember your mom, and with so many pins available, you’re sure to find the perfect choice. Perhaps you could buy a pin featuring her favorite Disney film, character, attraction, holiday or theme park. There are even pins honoring certain professions, like nursing and teaching, for example.

Since you took your mom to Walt Disney World twice to celebrate her birthday, I think one of the birthstone pins or zodiac sign pins would be a wonderful way to honor her memory. There is a lovely collection of pins with a Victorian-style cameo look featuring Tinker Bell’s profile. Each of the 12 pins (one for every month) is accented with the corresponding birthstone colors.  You could purchase one of these to commemorate either the month she was born or the month you took her to Walt Disney World for those pixie-dusted vacations.

I hope this helps, Linda. Please feel free to write back to me with any other questions you may have!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
