I recently learned the day I want to visit Disneyland just so happens to coincide with the Disney Half Marathon (Jan 2025). I cannot seem to find more detailed information such as road closures and marathon route. Do you know when that will be released?

Hello there, J! I'm so happy to see you back with another great question. I ran the Disneyland Half Marathon last January, so I'm happy to help answer your question.

Race information, like the course map, road closures, and more are usually mailed out about a month before the race. I'm running the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend with my planDisney pal Jana and the email with race information went out last week - just a few days over a month out. So keep an eye on the runDisney website toward the end of December for all of the race weekend information, J!

I looked back at the most recent Disneyland Half Marathon in January 2024. The Disneyland Half Marathon began around 5:30 AM and had a race course that went around the Disneyland Resort theme parks after mile five. Runners were instructed to park at the Toy Story Parking Area, leaving the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Parking Structures open for theme park guests. Since there is a set pace maximum of 16 minutes per mile for all runners, most of the roads near the parking structures were clear when they opened 60 minutes before the earliest standard Disneyland Resort theme park opening time. Of course, this is subject to change, so I do encourage you to check back.

J, please let me know if you have any other questions - it would be my pleasure to help!

    Thanks for running by,
    Melissa
