I recently had knee surgery and will be using a walker when we visit next week. Is there somewhere to leave it while on rides?

Hi there, Janice, and welcome to planDisney! Your trip looks like it's just a few days away, so let's get right to your question so you'll be ready to navigate all the magic that will surround you at the Walt Disney World Resort!

The great news, Janice, is that you will have no problem utilizing a walker to help you get around the parks, and you will be welcome to leave it safely stored with a Cast Member while you ride attractions. I would, however, recommend that if you are recovering from knee surgery, you may also want to consider other mobility services that might make getting around the parks less strenuous and more magical! After all, there are many, many magical miles to walk as you explore the Most Magical Place on Earth!

One option to consider is renting an ECV to help you scoot around the parks worry-free while you are recovering; my parents utilize ECVs regularly when they visit the parks and are happy to share that all attraction queues can accommodate the scooters, making waiting in line easier on their knees. Scooters are also welcome on all forms of Disney transportation, including buses, the Disney Skyliner, and Disney Monorail. If you do decide to rent a scooter, you can do so in the parks or reserve one from a provider that can be delivered directly to your Disney Resort hotel for the duration of your visit. Disney's featured provider for this service is Scooter Bug, which allows for your scooter to be dropped off and waiting for you upon your check-in!

If you're up for the challenge of walking the parks post-surgery, I'll offer you a few great attractions that you can visit to rest your knees if needed:
    • Mickey's PhilharMagic in Magic Kingdom Park
    • The American Adventure in EPCOT
    • Muppet Vision 3D in Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Festival of the Lion King in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Janice, I hope this helps you to feel confident and ready to walk right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A. on your upcoming visit! If you have any other questions, come back to planDisney and let us know! We're always happy to help guests access the magic!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
