HI. I recently joined the DVC. 1st visit to AK, which other resort would you recommend? Planning on going back on May '13 w kid 7 years old. Will be visiting MK and other Orlando places. Hope you can help me. thanks

    Hi Brizna,

Welcome home to the Disney Vacation Club! You have many years of magical vacation memories in front of you. My family has very much enjoyed our stays at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. I'll share a few of my other favorite Disney Vacation Club resorts with you.

My first suggestion is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This sleek resort is very new and offers lovely Bay Lake or Magic Kingdom views. We took a trip for my daughter's seventh birthday, and this is where she requested to stay! Since you mention that you will be visiting the Magic Kingdom, Bay Lake Tower cannot be beat. You can walk to the Magic Kingdom. If you don't walk to walk, it's an easy monorail ride away.

I must always recommend Disney's Boardwalk Villas. This is our home resort, and thus, my home away from home. I truly love the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk area. Many restaurants and entertainment options are available in easy walking distance around Crescent Lake. Although you do not mention Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios, both are a short walk or boat ride away if you do decide to visit them. Magic Kingdom is accessible by bus.

A final recommendation is Disney's Old Key West Resort. Old Key West was the original Disney Vacation Club resort. The villas are huge, and the atmosphere is decidedly relaxed. Old Key West also often requires less points per night than other resorts, so if you are trying to conserve points, it is a great option. All Walt Disney World parks are accessed by bus from Old Key West.

I hope this helps give you some ideas for your next vacation, Brizna!
