    I have recently heard that guests are starting to get charged "storage" fees for items that they have shipped to their resort, to avoid xtra baggage fees or grocery delivery. Is this true? If so, what are the rates?

    Hi Chris,

    I also read about this on a chat board last week so I asked for a clarification.  Here is what we've been told so far:

    There are no storage fees for packages shipped to your resort in advance.  For Convention Resorts only, a handling charge may apply based on the size of the package.  There is no fee for outbound packages unless cast members need to perform packing and labeling.  In this case, a handling charge would apply, based on the size of the package.

    Also related to packages, as of February 1, 2009, the Disney Cruise Line has a new storage facility for packages that are shipped in advance of the passenger's sail date.  There is no fee associated with this, but there are restrictions as to what can be shipped due to regulations.
