Hi Stephen!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a great question! Just like Peter Pan and friends, you'll soon be taking flight - only your destination isn't Neverland, but Orlando, Florida, and "The Most Magical Place on Earth!"
Stephen, if you're anything like me, I'm sure you appreciate opportunities to make your travel days as easy as possible. I’m excited to share that
airport luggage transfer is available for Guests staying at select Disney Resort Collection hotels who have flights with Southwest Airlines arriving at or departing from Orlando International Airport. The following hotels are currently offering this service:
- Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
- Disney's All-Star Music Resort
- Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney's Pop Century Resort
- Disney's Art of Animation Resort
Taking advantage of this service is as easy as saying "bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!" For your arrival, you will need to
complete a registration form before your arrival. The form can be completed as early as 30 days, but no later than 5 days, before your arrival. It also requests your hotel reservation information and your Southwest Airlines flight details, so you'll want to have both ready before starting. Then on your travel day, you'll simply check your bags in at your departing airport as normal, and they'll magically arrive at your Disney resort later that day - no stop at baggage claim required! I'd suggest keeping anything you may want to start your vacation with you in a
carry-on bag, as it may take a few hours for your luggage to arrive at your resort.
When it's time to head home, you can drop your bags at Luggage Assistance located in your resort lobby during the designated times. I recommend checking the latest information on the
Walt Disney World Resort website or your resort lobby for the most up-to-date information on when you need to drop your bags off to utilize this service. You will need to check into your flight and pay any necessary baggage fees with Southwest via the app or online before leaving your luggage. When dropping your luggage off at your resort hotel, you'll need to have your government-issued photo ID with you. Just like on your arrival day, I'd suggest keeping a bag with you that day with some essentials, as once your bags are dropped off, you won't be able to retrieve them until you return to your home airport. As a mom of three, I've had some surprises on that last day and was happy I kept a change of clothes for my little ones with me!
Stephen, I hope this information has been helpful and that you are able to use this service on your upcoming visit. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
Cheers,
Kristi
