Hello Mabel,
Welcome to planDisney! I hope you are having a wonderful time planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation--especially now that you have some extra spending fun from your grandparents!
I am happy to let you know that I double checked directly with the Mitsukoshi Department Store, in the Japan Pavilion, in
EPCOT, and they do take
Disney Gift Cards! I was pretty sure that when we visited in December, my daughter used her own Disney Gift Card from her grandparents to buy the fun Japanese candies and sweets she picked out, but in all the excitement, I just wanted to verify with them.
If you haven't visited before, the store feels like it goes on forever. There are so many incredible items! On that same December trip, I was able to pick out really nice, authentic chopsticks for some members of my family as part of their Christmas gifts. It was fun to have the story of our trip and where I purchased them to share as part of the present. You'll also find the pick-a-pearl experience inside the Mitsukoshi Department Store which is a personal and Guest favorite. In a neat ceremony, you get to pick an oyster and have them open it up to see what type of pearl is hiding inside. It's a great experience and a fun souvenir to take home! Also, you may want to make sure to save a little time to explore the
Bijutsu-kan Gallery next door. They have an adorable kawaii or "Japan's 'cute' culture" exhibit that was fun to stroll through.
Have a wonderful vacation, Mabel! If there is anything else that we are able to assist you with, please let us know.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
