Congratulations Christina,
Welcome to planDisney. How exciting that you will be welcoming a Mouseketeer into the world! I fondly remember visiting Walt Disney World Resort last year when I was expecting a little one. Visiting the Theme Parks is definitely a whole new world when you are pregnant, so I am happy to help you navigate this.
I actually was looking into
Savor the Savanna during my pregnancy, but we decided not to book the experience because it is listed as something Expectant mothers should not participate in. Walt Disney World's recommendations are based on healthy average pregnancies. Due to the rugged safari vehicle experience and increased jostling (I'm told it is a little shakier than
Kilimanjaro Safaris), it is strongly recommended that expectant mothers sit this one out. That said, I have had friends ride rollercoasters while pregnant during their vacations. While I tend to err on the side of caution, my best recommendation is to speak with your obstetrician before you make your decision. Mine recommended I save the experience for after my baby arrived, but yours may say differently.
I hope this was helpful, Christina. The first trimester can be a little rough, so your body will appreciate the extra special attention. Remember to take frequent breaks and stay hydrated during your visit, Christina.
If you have any other questions about visiting Walt Disney World Resort while expecting, please come back and see
me.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
