Welcome, Stephen to planDisney, where vacation planning from Batuu to Tatooine is what Master Jedi like me do best.
Not so long ago I remember building my first lightsaber at Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The green kyber crystal called out to me and when I finally completed the task, the blade ignited. I may or may not have had a tear in my eye. Since then Savi and associates have helped me add a blue-bladed lightsaber to my collection. Ahsoka Tano would be proud of my dual blades.
Once I got back to my home planet, I needed to provide more power to my lightsaber so I removed the blade in order to accomplish this more efficiently and carefully. Here is how I disassembled it.
- Turn the lightsaber off
- Have your Padawan place the lightsaber on a table or on the ground in front of them.
- With one hand, hold the hilt, and with the other hand secure the blade close to the top of the hilt (emitter piece).
- Push the blade into the hilt then twist clockwise. The blade should release.
- Pull the blade out of the hilt. There will be some resistance as it slides cleanly away.
- To place it back, just reverse the order.
- Ignite to make sure the blade is connected
- Continue your padawan training
If you have any other issues with the blade then contact Disney Merchandise Guest Services at (877) 560-6477 or email at Merchandise.Guest.Services@DisneyParks.com.
planDisney Pro Tip: Depending on use, the power to my lightsaber needs to be replaced every 12 months. If you plan to be carbon-frozen then remove the batteries to prevent corroded contacts until your lightsaber is needed again.
Please feel free to ask
me any other questions about your padawan's training. I can be a powerful ally and that is no Jedi Mind Trick.
Stephen, May the Force Be With You.
