Hi there, Julie! Welcome to planDisney!
I love hearing that fellow Guests have a magical vacation on the horizon! I'm sorry that you're running into a little scheduling trouble. I am sure that can be frustrating when you've put so much time, energy and magic into your trip thus far. Let me see if I can help guide you in the right direction on this.
Julie, while it is possible to change your ticket and reservation date, it is not possible to change it to a date that is already full. When you see that grayed-out date on the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar, that means reservations are completely booked that day. While you may not be able to switch right this instant, there is still a glimmer of hope.
Guests change their plans all the time. Things come up. Life happens. Hakuna Matata, right? Well, if one Guest cancels their reservation to a theme park, it becomes available for another Guest to book. Unfortunately, there is no waitlist or way to be notified if this does happen. You'll have to rely on old-fashioned hard work and diligence. My best advice is to check the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar frequently leading up to the date you'd like to visit. If you see the park you'd like to visit become available, cancel your current reservation immediately and
make a new theme park reservation for that date. While it is not a sure thing, it does give you a chance to make your theme park dreams come true.
If your current date of December 10 is out, and you don't want to commit to obsessing over the availability for the next few days, you may be better served choosing a completely different date that shows full availability. While it isn't Plan A for you, it does take a little bit of the stress off.
Whatever you decide, I'm sure you will have an absolutely magical visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Be sure to take a ride on
The Incredicoaster for me! It's been a while since I've visited and I sure do miss chasing that crazy Jack Jack on a one-of-a-kind adventure!
Have a magical day,
Ashley
