I recently bought three individual park hopper tickets to Disneyland. After purchasing, I realized I could by two of those tickets under the SoCal resident offer. How can I change two of my original single day park hopper passes to the SoCal resident offer

    Hiya, Clint!

Welcome to planDisney! We are a group of fellow Disney Parks enthusiasts, happy to help other Guests in the community enjoy visits to The Happiest Place on Earth as much as possible. And it seems you are interested in just that. Let’s go over what options are available.

Most regular theme park tickets may be upgraded to another ticket type. The Disneyland Resort website includes a page about upgrading park tickets. That page is focused on upgrading a ticket to a Disneyland Resort Magic Key pass. But many of the same principles apply to upgrading a ticket to another ticket type. Here are some highlights to keep in mind:

    • Some tickets, such as complimentary tickets and special event tickets, are not eligible for upgrades.
    • In most cases, a ticket must still be valid to be upgraded. That is, it must not have been fully used and/or expired. Upgrades must be done before the end of the last day it is used.
    • A partially used ticket may only be used by the same Guest who initially used it after being upgraded.
    • An expired ticket purchased directly from Disney may be upgraded to a current ticket only if it is wholly unused.
    • Tickets may not be combined as part of an upgrade.

To upgrade a theme park ticket, visit one of the ticket booths located outside the main entrances of the parks. Be sure to take along as much information about your tickets as you have available. That may include the purchase confirmation email and your original form of payment. To upgrade to a California Resident 3-Day Ticket, you will also need a valid photo ID to prove eligibility. You may also reach out to a Cast Member with the Tickets phone line to answer special-case questions.

Don’t forget to check out what’s cooking at the Disneyland Resort this Summer, Clint. I hope you have a magical time!

    ~Tony
