Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. I'm so happy you stopped by, and even happier to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort next week!
Exploring the theme parks with a 1-year old always makes for a magical visit. And you'll be visiting with two? Double the magic! Two of my three kids experienced their first Disney vacation when they were only a year old and I'll just never forget the way their precious little faces lit up with joy. Melted my heart!
A double stroller will be essential for your family's pixie-dusted adventures in the theme parks. I'm glad to hear you've already checked the
official Walt Disney World Resort rules. Strollers should be no larger than 31" in width and 52" in length, but I don't think you need to worry if your stroller measures just a half-inch over. I recommend using some painter's tape to mark a 31" x 52" rectangle on the floor. Push your stroller into the rectangle. If it fits pretty well within the marked space, you'll be fine. If it doesn't, you may want to consider
renting a double stroller from ScooterBug, Disney's Featured Rental Provider. ScooterBug offers my very favorite double stroller, the City Mini Double. I love that this stroller has extra-large shades and seats that recline completely flat, making a comfortable space for my little one to take a mid-day snooze. All the double strollers that ScooterBug offers meet the sizing guidelines for the theme parks!
Be sure to take something along with you to mark your stroller. You'll be parking your stroller in designated stroller parking areas throughout the day, and you'll want it to stand out among a sea of others! I always tie some Mickey Mouse ribbon around the handlebar of our stroller, but I've seen Guests attach balloons, nameplates, and even battery-operated twinkle lights!
Did you know there's a conveniently located
Baby Care Center in each of the four theme parks? The Baby Care Center is the perfect place to take your babies for quiet diaper changes and feedings.
I hope this was helpful, Jennifer. I'm wishing you and your family a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
