Hi Kristen,
Welcome to planDisney!
I do suggest that you get those theme park tickets as soon as possible so that you can make
Disney Park Pass system reservations. Given the excitement surrounding
The World's Most Magical Celebration, theme park reservations could reach capacity prior to your visit. Recently, Disney's Hollywood Studios has reached park reservation capacity, so keep your eye on the
theme park availability calendar!
If you have already booked a Walt Disney World Resort hotel directly through the Walt Disney World Resort, I suggest that you modify that to a
vacation package that includes tickets. With a vacation package, you would have a cancellation window that would allow you to cancel without penalty provided you book through the Walt Disney World Resort and cancel by a certain date. As you may know,
theme park tickets purchased separately are non-refundable.
Review the cancellation terms and conditions if and when you book a vacation package. I have been able to cancel a vacation package and receive a refund of my deposit as long as I booked directly through the Walt Disney World Resort and I cancelled 30 days or more prior to our arrival.
As you continue to plan, remember to make
advanced dining reservations 60-days prior to your visit. Check the
dining and
resort hotel updates prior to your visit to see what new experiences might be available. And review the
operational updates since policies and procedures could change!
Kristen, the good news is that you have time to get your matching gear and plan your park strategy. Your visit to a world of magic will be here soon!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
