Hi Elin, welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for reaching out with your question! I'm happy to help clarify the details about your upcoming stay at one of my favorite
Disney Resorts Collection hotels,
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. I love the tropical ambiance, the Fuentes del Morro Pool, the Banana Cabana, and Sebastian’s Bistro!
I spoke to a friendly Cast Member on your behalf and confirmed that the abbreviation "HA" on the Walt Disney World website refers to "Hearing Accessible" rooms. These rooms can indeed be located on the second floor, as they are designed for Guests who require visual and auditory accommodations rather than mobility-related needs. However, if you’ve booked a "WA" or Wheelchair Accessible room with a roll-in shower, these rooms are located on the ground floor. Since Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort doesn’t have elevators, the resort ensures that Wheelchair Accessible rooms are easily accessible for Guests using wheelchairs or scooters. When reviewing the Caribbean Beach Resort website, I do not see an "HA" or Hearing Accessible Water or Pool View – 5th Sleeper room with a roll-in shower listed as an option, so I believe the other website you are referring to may be using the wrong terminology.
If you’re unsure about the specifics of your reservation, I recommend contacting Disney Resort Reservations to confirm that your booking is for a Wheelchair Accessible room. This way, you can ensure that your accommodations will meet your needs.
