Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Tiffany!
You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your excellent question. I am so excited to help one of our newest neighbors. Tiffany, you're going to love being a
Disney Vacation Club Member, as it opens up a whole new world for traveling to Disney and beyond! We have been Members for over 21 years, and it has made our Disney vacation dreams come true, year after year.
Tiffany, one of the great benefits of being a Disney Vacation Club Member is the access to our Member Lounges. Many Members love to visit
Top of The World Lounge - A Villains Lair. Whether it's for one of the special experiences like
Wicked Wind Down, Bound To Be Bad, or the Enchantment At The Top Dessert Party, or visiting as a walk-in Member to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks on a first come, first served basis, the exclusive location for eligible Members is an enticing treat indeed.
I spoke with Member Services today about your question, Tiffany, as typically to access the Top of the World Lounge, eligible Members need to have both a reservation at a Walt Disney World-owned and operated Resort using their Membership and a valid Membership card. While I wish I had better news to share, Tiffany, unfortunately, they clarified that the Disney Hotel Resort reservation has to be made using
your Membership (either with Vacation Points or cash). This means that if your stay has been made on Vacation Points that were belonging to another Member, you wouldn't be able to access the Top of the World Lounge even as a current Member.
When eligible Members arrive at the Lounge, Cast Members will check that they have a valid reservation at a Disney-owned and operated Resort during the time of their visit and ask to see their valid Digital Membership Card. So they would be able to see that the reservation for your stay is booked under another Member's Vacation Points.
While I know this news is more like a poison apple than a happy ending, I would like to share other ways you can take advantage of your Membership during your stay. If eligible, you can use your
Disney Vacation Club Member Extras and benefits, which include a range of ways for you to save money on shopping, dining, events, experiences, tickets and tours. Perhaps there is something in there that is a wish your heart makes to help add magic to your experience.
You should be able to access the
Member Lounge in Epcot with your Digital Membership Card, which is a nice reprieve and a place to refuel your pixie dust during your park day. In fact, my
fellow panelist Lauren M. recommends grabbing a quick service meal or snack and enjoying it in the quiet and relaxing
Member Lounge located in the Imagination! Pavilion. I hope these tips help you Tiffany, and you are able to enjoy many of the other Disney Vacation Club benefits during your stay. If you have any additional Disney Vacation Club or Disney vacation planning questions,
stop back and see me and I'll be so happy to help you!
See ya real soon!
