I recently became a DVC member at BLT! I am wondering what the benefit is of having multiple home resorts? Is that done instead of buying additional points at my home resort?

    Hi Stephanie,

Let me be one of the first to say, "Welcome Home!" to Disney Vacation Club.  You have years of wonderful vacations ahead of you.  Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a lovely resort.  What a great one to have as your home resort!

If you decide to add on vacation points in the future, you might decide to choose to add another home resort.  I think that the biggest advantage to this is that you will have another resort with an eleven-month booking window.  Remember, you can book at your home resort eleven months ahead of check-in, and any other Disney Vacation Club resort seven months ahead.  This advantage becomes especially important if you are looking to book resorts during popular seasons - say, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for the week of Christmas, or Disney's BoardWalk Villas or Disney's Beach Club Villas during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.  I have always been able to book a Disney Vacation Club resort within my seven-month window, so this has never really bothered me; however, I tend to be happy with any of the resorts for any vacation since I know that I will be back again!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Stephanie.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any more questions about your new Disney Vacation Club membership!
