I recently got an apartment in FL (August) to attend grad school. I'm from Boston so my ID's & insurances are tied to MA & my apartment is all inclusive (rent includes all utilities so no separate bill). How can I prove Florida residency?

    Hi, Julio! Welcome to planDisney!

Congratulations on grad school! That's quite an accomplishment. It sounds like you're planning to treat yourself to a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate!

Julio, Disney has a pretty comprehensive list of documents they'll accept as proof of residency to purchase Florida Resident Tickets. Aside from a driver's license or utility bills, you can also use the following:

     - Current automobile registration, insurance policy or bill
     - Mail from financial institutions, including checking, savings or investment account statements
     - Mail from federal, state, county or city government agencies (statements and mail can be no more than two months old)

I think your best option might be to contact your bank and see if you can have statements mailed to your address in Florida while you're here. You might also consider opening a new savings account with your Florida address. You can build a nest egg while you're establishing your Florida residency!

You'll find the full list of everything Disney accepts for proof of Florida residency on the Walt Disney World website. I hope you find something there that will help show that you're a Floridian, even for a little while. Who knows, maybe after grad school, you'll find your dream job right here in the Sunshine State. Just think of all the Disney days you'll get to have then!

Best of luck in your scholarly endeavors, Julio, and thanks for stopping by to see us here at planDisney!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
