Hi there, Elaine! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home, neighbor! I always love chatting with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!
I can't think of any better way to use your
Disney Vacation Club Points than on a voyage on the new
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! How amazing! I know that you must have had an out-of-this-world experience that was worth being out of 2022 Vacation Points. Even though I now have three separate DVC contracts, no matter how many Points I have, I always seem to need more! So, I am a Points-borrowing expert, and you have come to the right place, my friend.
You are correct that since the re-opening of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, there is a temporary policy change stating that Members can only
borrow up to 50 percent of their Vacation Points to complete a reservation. I have found that when booking Resort reservations online, if more Points are needed to complete the reservation, the system will only allow borrowing up to 50 percent of the Points. However, if for some reason the system does allow you to borrow more than 50 percent of your Points to make a reservation, the policy states that the reservation will be canceled.
Since you have used all 450 of your 2022 Vacation Points, if you would like to book a vacation during your 2022 Use Year, you will be able to borrow up to 225 Vacation Points from your 2023 Use Year to complete your magical reservation. If you need a little extra pixie dust to complete your dream vacation booking, you can
purchase up to 24 One-Time-Use Points per year, once you are within your seven-month booking window. To purchase these extra Points, just
contact Member Services at the time of booking. More Points equal more magic!
Elaine, I hope that this was helpful, and I hope that you stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions! I am wishing you a lifetime of magical memories using your magical Membership.
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
