Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Laura ~
First, let me wish you a speedy recovery from your knee surgery. The trams do not stop at the handicapped parking areas in any of the theme parks. The handicapped parking spaces are located near the front of each theme and water park with the exception of the Magic Kingdom where handicapped parking is near the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). It is not that long of a walk. Even when we have parked in the back of the section, it has not taken us longer than 10 minutes to walk to the TTC and that was walking slow.
If you decide to drive to the Magic Kingdom, you will need to take the monorail or ferry boat from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom. Monorails and ferry boats are handicapped accessible and can accommodate Guests traveling in ECVs.
Here is some information for Guests
using ECVs in the queues and boarding attractions that may be helpful.
I called Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. They have buses that start running as early as 6:45 a.m. I would confirm the times when you check-in just to be safe. Once it makes all of the stops within the resort, it takes the bus about 15 minutes to arrive at the Magic Kingdom. Each bus can usually accommodate 2 Guests in ECVs or wheelchairs.
Please feel free to visit again with any other questions. We'll be hEAR for you up until you embark on your pixie dusted trail!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
