On a recent Disney Cruise, we were caught by surprise with a LARGE gratuities bill on our last day. It included services from the cleaning staff! We are now going to Walt Disney World in two weeks. Do resorts charge for this? What should we expect?

Hi Jamie Lyn!  I'm sorry you were caught off guard by the tipping policy aboard the Disney Cruise Line.  Let me answer your question about gratuities at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.  The Resorts will not add any sort of gratuity on your account.  Personally, I like to "tip" Mousekeeping each day.  A good general guideline is $1 per day per person in the room.  Again, this is what I like to do and absolutely not required.  If the housekeeping staff (Mousekeeping) goes above and beyond, you might like to even reflect that in a tip as well.  Let me stress that tipping is absolutely optional, and no gratuities will be added to your Disney Resort bill for accommodations.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you a MAGICAL vacation!
