Welcome to planDisney! I cannot imagine a trip to Walt Disney World Resort without a
MagicBand of some kind on my hand. I have three of them that I rotate when in the Parks. Sometimes a girl needs options.
Laine, did you pre-order your MagicBand+ as you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel? When you pre-order the band before you arrive at the discounted price, you select at purchase who you want to delegate the band to so that when it arrives it is already linked to you. A big clue that it's already linked is if you look at the backside of the band and see your name! Another way to confirm if it is already linked is to look at your
MagicBands and Cards in your My Disney Experience Account. Look for your profiles and see what bands and cards are linked. If it's linked then there is nothing else you have to do and that may be why it keeps saying that it has already been claimed.
However, if you purchased your MagicBand+ from the
Disney Store Online, this will not be pre-linked and you will have to
connect it to your account. If you find that it is still not working then I would speak to the Cast Members at
My Disney Experience, MagicBand, and MagicBand+.
