I received an email yesterday advising of construction during our stay. Is there a way to find out what’s being done or if it will affect the pool or anything else that would affect our vacation?

Hey Howdy Hey Mary and welcome to planDisney!

No one likes to get the construction emails, but it is nice to know what to expect and not be surprised when you check-in that there are big things happening you were not aware of. If you did not see specifics in the email on what was being done at your resort, let's go through how to find out the extent of this construction.

Most of this information will also be available online under the Disney Resorts Collection section. Click on your Resort Category, your specific resort and then under "Overview" you will see this information. Under the resort picture, you should see in bright orange, the information regarding construction at the resort. It should say specifically what is going on and what is being affected by the construction as well as how long to expect it to take. If you are reading through and feel that you want to make some changes to the resort you will be staying at, you can do so through your My Disney Experience Account online. Scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and on the far right, you should either see a link to "Modify Your Reservation" or a statement giving you a phone number to call to make these changes. As long as you change the resort within the same category, prices should be very comparable but if there is a difference, this change will either provide a credit or extra charge. Disney does realize a lot of their guests visit very infrequently and a lot of times these are once-in-a-lifetime trips, so they try to minimize the construction inconvenience in any way they can.

I hope this information is helpful and I hope the construction does not affect your trip. Good luck with the continued planning of your vacation in June and if you have any further questions let us know, we love talking about all things Disney!

    Happy planning,
