Hey, Sam, and welcome to planDisney!
You have a wonderful friend to give you such a magical gift. I cannot think of a better vacation gift than a Theme Park ticket to Magic Kingdom Park. Even though your gift giver will not be with you there is a way to get your ticket before you go to "Will Call." Here is what you need to do.
- Download the My Disney Experience Mobile App if you do not have it.
- Create a My Disney Experience account if you do not have one. You will need this to link your theme park ticket. You may create one online if that is easier for you. It is quick to complete the process as you follow the different prompts.
- Once the account is created and you have logged in on the mobile app, you will need to link your ticket.
- Navigate your mouse to the lower right corner and click the (≡) to open the Feature Menu Page
- Select "Tickets and Passes"
- Choose "plus sign" in the upper right corner and click on "Link Tickets & Passes." You will need your ticket number to complete the entry.
- Now your ticket is linked.
Once it is linked you will need to create a digital ticket that can be used at the Magic Kingdom Park entrance and at select attractions. This is done with Disney MagicMobile Service on your smart device. Here is how:
- Open the My Disney Experience Mobile app and login
- Click the (≡) Feature Menu Page on the lower right side
- Tap on the "Disney MagicMobile" Icon
- Follow the steps to create a digital ticket (digital pass)
- Once created you will need to add the pass to your digital wallet on your smart device.
One very important piece of information. Even though you have a theme park ticket you also need a Theme Park Reservation. Once your ticket is linked to your My Disney Experience account check for Theme Park availability and then you may make a Theme Park Reservation. Only Guests with valid tickets may make reservations. Be sure to make your reservation right after you link your ticket.
Sam, there are a lot of steps to create an account, add a ticket, check for theme park reservation availability, make the theme park reservation, and add the ticket to Disney MagicMobile Service so you can receive your ticket without having the gift giver present.
Also, you may make dining reservations for table service restaurants 60 days before your arrival if you want food a bit more sophisticated than quick service meals.
planDisney Pro Tip: If you are unsuccessful in making a Theme Park Reservation at first, keep checking every day. More will open up as other Guests change their plans.
Sam, please feel free to write me directly with any follow-up questions.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
