Hi there, Keith!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for stopping over with your question about Walt Disney World Resort
theme park tickets. Oh boy - it looks like you're planning to visit
The Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few short days! I'm happy to help you understand how to maximize the value of your theme park tickets.
What a pixie-dusted predicament you've found yourself in, Keith! I understand that you've purchased 5-day theme park tickets with the
Park Hopper option and subsequently received complimentary tickets as well. Since complimentary theme park tickets have no cash value, I'm afraid that you won't be able to apply them toward the amount you paid for your existing tickets. However, the 5-day theme park tickets you purchased will retain their value even after they've expired! The amount originally paid for wholly unused, expired Walt Disney World theme park tickets may be applied toward the purchase of new, unexpired theme park tickets at the current rate. At the time of the transaction, you'd just be responsible for the difference between the original amount paid and the cost of the new tickets, if any.
Keith, my recommendation is that you use the complimentary tickets on this upcoming trip, instead of the tickets you originally purchased. Doing so will allow you to use both sets of tickets, even if your 5-day Park Hopper tickets expire before you're able to use them. To complete this modification, I encourage you to reach out to the friendly Cast Members at the
Existing Tickets phone line for assistance. Alternatively, you could visit any Walt Disney World Resort
theme park ticket booth or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs once you arrive on-site. It's important that your
theme park reservations remain unchanged in this transaction if you hope to keep your original plans, and a Cast Member will be able to help you out with this.
I'm wishing you a magical and memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, Keith! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to reach out to us at planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
