I received a complimentary 1-day park hopper for being a part of Disneyland Candlelight Processional winter 2019. The ticket says it is valid till November 2020. Would the expiration date extend for this ticket since it is a complimentary ticket?

    Hiya, Sonny!

Wow! I love the grandeur and beauty of the Candlelight Ceremony and Processional at the Disneyland Resort. Thank you for sharing your talents in that special event. I hope we can all enjoy the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort again soon!

To date, the Disneyland Resort has announced that the expiration dates of select ticket types will be extended automatically. This includes certain promotional tickets, tickets sold to select international Guests, and Military Salute tickets. For the time being, other ticket types are not included in this group of automatic expiration date extensions. Most regular, theme park tickets that are wholly unused will retain their original value even after they expire. That value can then be applied toward the purchase of new theme park tickets. Unfortunately, most “complimentary” tickets may not fall in that category, as they usually have no monetary value associated with them.

I really hope that you get a chance to use that special ticket soon. After all, you’ve earned it! But if the temporary closure of the Disneyland Resort should continue past the point of your ticket’s expiration I would recommend reaching out to the event coordinator or your group’s contact with the Disneyland Resort to determine if arrangements can be made to exchange your ticket. Given the particular circumstances at this time, it seems worthwhile to at least ask. As the phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort proceeds, keep an eye on the Disneyland Resort website as well. The latest updates can be found there as well as on the Disney Parks Blog.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us at planDisney, Sonny. If you have any other questions about visiting the Disneyland Resort or other Disney Parks destinations, I hope you come to see us again.
