Hiya Paul! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy! I can't think of a better gift than receiving an annual pass to the
Walt Disney World Resort. Being able to visit the parks as often as your pass allows is a dream come true for many Guests. There are also several discounts and perks that come along with being an Annual Passholder, so you'll get more out of it than just entry to the theme parks.
With only one option available for
new Annual Pass purchases, you are in a unique situation since you have not activated your pass to date. New passes are only valid for one year after the purchase date. If your pass is not activated in October, it will expire and you will no longer be able to use it. However, you will still be able to use the value of this pass toward a future Annual Pass purchase. The only problem with this currently is that the Disney Pixie Dust Pass is the only one being sold at this time. This pass is exclusive to residents of Florida, so Guests residing in other states do not have the ability to purchase new passes. This can change at any point, so I would stay up-to-date with the
Disney Parks Blog for any news and announcements.
If you are able to plan a trip before it expires, your pass will then be valid for one year after activation. I would suggest
calling the Annual Passholders line at the Walt Disney World Resort and speaking to a Cast Member for assistance. They will be able to look at your current Annual Pass and provide you will all the options available to you.
Paul, whenever your next visit may be, just remember that the magic will be waiting for your arrival! With so many new additions either recently opening or debuting in the near future, you are going to have plenty to keep you busy!
Have a magical day!
Greg
