Hiya Wendy - welcome to
planDisney!
We're glad you've stopped by with a question for our team of panelists. I'm here to help!
As you know, some Signature Dining options and other experiences at
Walt Disney World Resort do require pre-payment. If you need to change your plans and have canceled your prepaid dining reservation, you should receive a refund to your original form of payment shortly thereafter. In my experience, this has usually been within 24 to 48 hours, but sometimes it's been a bit longer of a wait. This is especially true if I've made the cancellation on a weekend or holiday, or if the reservation was made as part of a larger vacation package or booked through a third-party.
If it's already been a few days and you haven't seen your refund, I have two suggestions. First, please check your original method of payment to see if you actually did pre-pay. Sometimes these payments are not actually processed until the day of your reservation, despite being described as requiring pre-payment. So, before you get concerned about a missing refund, please be sure that you need one. If you
were initially charged and have not received a refund in a timely fashion, I suggest
calling and speaking to a Cast Member who can assist you. I would recommend having your original reservation's confirmation number handy to make this process a bit easier.
I hope that this change in your plans is due to you finding something even more magical to take its place!
The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration has so much magic to offer - I hope you'll have time to experience it all.
Please let us know if there are any other questions we can help answer for you!
