When we receive a complimentary MagicBand for staying at a Disney Resort, 1) Can I link a different credit card to the Band versus the one used for incidentals at check-in? 2) Does the MagicBand expire after the amount of days staying at the resort?

    Hi Terry,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

To answer your first question, we often travel with friends and family which means we often have several households staying in the same room. I have some great news for you! A MagicBand can be linked to another credit card, even if it’s not the same one that is associated with the vacation reservation. That being said, please make sure to request request a printout of your MagicBands’ transactions after your first day in order to make sure that everything is being processed correctly.

As for your second question, I’m also happy to say that I reuse MagicBands from previous stays all the time. They aren’t linked to your specific Reservation but rather to your My Disney Experience account. Although you won’t likely be able to use any remaining entitlements associated with your first stay, when you book your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort, that new Resort reservation and any Theme Park Tickets associated with it will be linked to any active MagicBands linked to your account.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
