Can I reassign a ticket to family member in the app & NOT manage their experience? We won’t be 100% of the time at parks bc we will separate kids into age groups for certain rides. Will they be able to do their own genie plus or LL at the same time?

    Hiya Rachael!

Welcome to planDisney! I love how you are trying to think of ways to enjoy a vacation together with your family while still encouraging individual interests. Walt Disney World Resort is perfect for that as it has something for everyone. From carrousels to a reverse-launch indoor roller coaster you will find attractions that will be a favorite for anyone.

When you link together with a person on the Family & Friends List, you are now able to make plans together. Especially, if they created their own My Disney Experience Account with their login and password. It does not mean you are automatically managing all of their plans but have the option to. Go ahead and reassign a ticket to your family member with their account and they can manage their plans as they like.

My husband and I have our separate accounts for strategy purposes. My children are under my husband's account and are "managed" by him. However, since I want to make plans for everyone under my account I made sure to link my husband and both my kids to my account. My husband has to allow the link to occur and can even limit what I can manage for my kids. The two options are to allow me to view all of my kid's plans and to view their Disney PhotoPass photos. Of course, my husband has given me access to both and when we go in the Parks I can select Lightning Lanes selectively or for the whole family. This way, when our family may split up for the day I can still book Lightning Lanes for myself and the kid that I have while my husband can do it for his party.  There is a point during the Lightning Lane selection process where you can select the Party that you want with you. So, when you split your party up just be mindful when selecting your party before moving forward. If you accidentally add a person to your Lightning Lane that was with the other group you can edit your party by going to "Modify Plan" and editing your party by removing guests. Unfortunately, you will not be able to add anyone new to your party.

You can make dining reservations for each other which is a great way to reconnect after a fun day in the Parks. I love visiting 'Ohana with my family as it is a delicious all-you-care-to-enjoy meal where platters of yummy food are brought to us in a Polynesian-inspired dining area. I love how at dinner there was a ukelele player and coconut games for the kids. The view is splendid and it is so peaceful. 'Ohana means "family" and I have made so many core memories with my family here.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please feel free to let me know!

    Happy Planning!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
