Welcome to planDisney, Nickell! You've asked a really great question and I'll be happy to offer some guidance so you can continue preparing for your upcoming trip to Disneyland Resort.
Indeed, you've already noticed that the
official Disneyland mobile app does not have a feature that permits reassigning the ticket to another Guest. This is because
standard theme park tickets are generally not assigned to a Guest until they reach the turnstiles and scan their ticket for the first time. At that moment, a Cast Member will take your photo, and the ticket is officially assigned to you and will no longer be able to be reassigned. In general, the names you place on the ticket at the time of purchase are simply intended to help Guests keep them organized but are traditionally not verified with identification. Some exceptions to this practice do exist for Guests who are using Magic Key Passes or special offer tickets like the
current Anaheim Resident ticket which requires proof of residency in the form of valid, government-issued photo ID. I will share that you can certainly gift the ticket to someone else in your party, but you should be aware that the
eTicket terms and conditions state that tickets may not be resold or transferred for commercial purposes.
Nickell, if you find that you'd still like to change the name that was originally assigned to your ticket, you can call the
Tickets line and request this name change with a Cast Member. They'll be happy to help you with this request.
I hope these are helpful suggestions for now, Nickell. Please don't hesitate to come back to
planDisney if you have other questions that we can help answer! We'd love to see ya again real soon.
Magically yours,
Tishra
