Is it reasonable to think that after arriving at MCO at 4:15pm we could get to our hotel (YC) and then to dinner at Chef Mickey's by 8pm? Other option would be to do the Cape May Cafe, but not sure if it will live up to the reputation of Chef Mickeys.

Hello Kristen!  I loved your question because this is exactly the type of question I would have asked.  I have also been in this dilemma before.  I arrived at MCO at 5:00 p.m. with a Chef Mickey reservation set for 8:00 p.m.  My husband is laughing at me right now because he remembers how worried I was on this day because of the time frame.  Well, we arrived in plenty of time!  We arrived at 5:00 p.m. and gathered our luggage around 5:20 p.m.  We were able to  leave MCO around 5:30 p.m.  It took between thirty to forty five minutes to arrive at Walt Disney World.  We were in our resort room by 6:30 pm.
Unfortunately, I have not experienced Cape May Cafe, but plan to do so in the near future.  We have experienced Chef Mickey's with all of our WDW visits.  It is such a fabulous experience, which is why it is a "must do" with every visit.  We can never get enough of Mickey and his friends.  You MUST keep your reservation for Chef Mickey's.  I know it will be such a magical dining experience.  Keep those cameras ready.

I hope your vacation is filled with many new and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.  I know it will be.  Have a safe and magical trip!
