Is there really time to go to a park on your last day? We're looking at catching a 5pm flight home so I'm figuring we need to be at the airport by 3pm - which means leaving the resort at 2om??? Is it worth a ticket for the last day or just go to the pool?

    Hi Janet,

The choice is really up to you. If I have a late afternoon flight home, I almost always take the opportunity to get in some additional time in the parks. I'm an early riser and like to be at the park gates at "rope drop," when the park opens. Assuming the park opens at 9:00 a.m., you could easily get in four or more hours in the park on your last day without even cutting it close to your flight time. Depending on the time of year, in four hours you could get easily work in 10-15 attractions and a meal. That's a big deal in my book.

I was in exactly this position last weekend. I had a 5:45 p.m. flight home from Orlando International. I spent nearly five full hours enjoying Epcot before my Magical Express pickup at 2:40 p.m. This worked out perfectly for me.

You should also take a closer look at Disney's park ticket pricing structure. Once you have a four or five day park ticket, the price for adding additional days is minimal. Depending on the ticket you have, it may not cost very much at all to add an extra park day, often just a few dollars. You can upgrade your ticket to add an additional day at any park ticket window or guest relations office, enjoying more park time with minimal impact on your wallet.

However, if you'd like to sleep late and pack on your last day, you can certainly do that too. There is plenty to do at Walt Disney World without ever entering a park. As you suggest, you could sit by the pool. You could also play miniature golf, shop at Downtown Disney, play in the DisneyQuest arcade, rent a boat or bike for a few hours, go fishing, have a spa treatment, take a tour, or participate in countless other activities.

Good luck with your planning and please let us know if you have additional questions.
