Hi AJ,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Wow - a three-week trip to the Walt Disney World Resort sounds mighty fabulous! I can certainly empathize with your dilemma. I have a lactose intolerance and my girls have food allergies.
My first suggestion would be to review information on
Special Dietary Requests. I also suggest that you send an email to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to alert the dietary team of your food allergies.
Once you arrive at the restaurant, be sure to let the cast member who serves you know of your food allergies. She or he may be able to offer you a special allergy-friendly menu. On my last visit, I noted my dietary restrictions prior to arrival and each time I dined at a restaurant, the chef came out to meet with me to discuss my food allergy. At restaurants with buffet-style meals, the chef walked me around the buffet and pointed out the food items I could eat safely.
I was so impressed with their attention to my dietary needs. Therefore, I am confident that the dietary team will be able to assist your family as well!
When making your
Advanced Dining Reservations, remember to note any food allergies while making the reservation. Doing so will help the restaurant make accommodations. Remember that regular restaurant menus are available online. It was helpful for me to review those before I arrived. At many of the restaurants I visited on our last trip, the chef modified a regular menu item for me. And I must add, the food was delicious.
I hope this helps!
Happy planning.
