We would really like to do something special for New Year's eve and had thought that we go to Magic Kingdom and have dinner with the characters. Aside from Cinderalla's table (who my son doesn't know yet), do you know if i will be possible?

Hi Barrie! At this time the only character dining experiences held in the Magic Kingdom are the Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle and then the Crystal Palace where Winnie the Pooh and friends come out to greet the guests.  Liberty Tree Tavern used to have character dining at night but this has been discontinued for several years.

Crystal Palace is a buffet style dining restaurant located just off the Main Street. It can tend to get back logged as guests are reluctant to leave until they have met all characters which is understood but it does tend to cause delays in getting to a table. If you choose this restaurant I suggest you make it early on that evening so you are not going to miss out on some of the other park festivities.

Another location you might enjoy is Tonys which is located in the Town Square just as you arrive into the park. It is Italian fare and there are many great character greetings just outside so you are close to be able to combine the two experiences at least before heading further into the park.

Please note that the Magic Kingdom often will close to capacity very early in the day on New Years Eve. If this is where you wish to welcome the new year in then don't delay and get to the park in plenty of time before the gates are closed!  The fireworks show will make the long day worth it in the end!
